We are Arkkitema

The idea behind the Arkkitema is simple; We create architectural wooden lamps, which light is exceptional and particularly beautiful - light that serves space and delights the mind.

At the core of the design work, the Japanese concept of empty space, ma, is strongly involved. "The empty spaces between the structures of the lamp are often more important than the structures themselves," says Arkkitema´s creative director and designer Jaani Vaahtera. "What you see as a physical form is not the most beautiful, but the most beautiful is the path and the beam of light falling from the empty spaces. Arkkitema's T001 and T012 lamps are an excellent example of this," continues Jaani Vaahtera.

The design has also invested in aesthetic durability, a design that lasts beyond trends. The minimalist, Nordic design language is perfect for this. "Obvious but surprising, that's what Arkkitema is," says Jaani Vaahtera.

All wooden parts of Arkkitema lamps are made and assembled by hand in Finland. High-quality fabric cords come from Italy. Sustainable development and ethics guide all activities, from the use of responsibly grown wood materials to production and from packaging materials to transportation.
